At Organicality, we continually seek out and produce products that are fun, fashionable, and affordable, but not at the expense of others. Our continuous goal is to:
- honor our customers with quality and style,
- honor all people involved in production with safe environments and fair wages,
- honor our planet with sustainable production,
- and honor other species with cruelty-free and animal-free products.
Why do we care about organic and sustainably produced fashion? Well, for one thing, the U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates that the U.S. textile industry is the 5th largest contributor to CO2 emissions. And globally, the textile industry is one of the biggest producers of greenhouse gasses and users of natural resources, producing 66 million tons of fabric and using over one trillion kilowatt hours of electricity and between 1.6 and 2.3 trillion gallons of water.
So that’s the bad news on resources and carbon footprint. But on top of that, we have to be concerned about the industry impact on global populations and other living species. Fair trade is just as much an issue for fiber crops as it is for coffee. And we ensure that our fashion is not produced in a way that inflicts pain or death to animals involved in the process.
