We wanted to make our launch extra special. So together with some very good friends who share our passions, we created Practically Natural: a program dedicated to empowering consumers to make informed choices across the spectrum of cosmetics, textiles, organics, chemicals in the home, and more.
This one-time event brought together some of the leading change makers in the arena of health and sustainability. Practically Natural was a live consumer event in partnership with industry leaders, respected authors, government agencies, and consumer research scientists. We even included a retail marketplace, to help enable our consumer audience to take action and buy local.
Launched by Organicality, Inc. in 2009, we could not have changed so many lives without our friends at r+m Agency and Be Green Be The Change. Program sponsors included Whole Foods Market, The Body Shop Foundation, Women’s Edge Magazine, CareNet Foundation, and The Umstead Hotel and Spa. Carbon offsets were purchased from NC GreenPower.
And of course, close to our hearts at Organicality, a highlight for us at the Practically Natural event was the eco-fashion show presented by our president, Carrie Huitt Reuben, as well as engaging presentations by The Environmental Working Group, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and corporate sustainability author, Jonathan Estes. A number of local business leaders involved in fair trade, organics, and local, low-footprint advocacy generously provided additional speakers, content, and ongoing advisory support.
To keep the positive energy flowing, we have formed a Meetup. Small group gatherings educate participants about how to research the safety of their consumer products – ranging from makeup to pet care – while enjoying informal discussion and organic, healthy refreshments. Learn more about our Meetup.
